The Bee Conservancy invites you to their 3rd annual World Bee Day festival — a FREE family-friendly day that celebrates the 20,000+ bee species that pollinate 80% of the world’s flowering plants! Discover the fascinating world of ground- and cavity-nesting bees, learn how to build sustainable pollinator habitats, and everyday actions you can take to save the bees.

Hosted at the Bee Sanctuary site on Governors Island, there will be fun, educational programming including a look inside a honey bee hive, a Birds and Bees guided walk with NYC Audubon, native bee chats, honey tastings, and more! Activities for kids will include storytime readings of the new comic book “Bee a Buddy,” nature crafts, and a scavenger hunt. Urban Farm neighbors GrowNYC will offer bee crafts and Earth Matter will host a Seed Ball Making Station.

Enjoy complimentary gift bags and goodies from our sponsor, Zarbee’s, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
