Tuesday, July 29
Lullabies with Leah
11 a.m. to noon
Free
Learn a new lullaby every week this summer. Come once or multiple times. You will be provided with words for each lullaby, its cultural history and story, and a playlist on Spotify. Learn how to use your voice with baby, no matter how tuneless you may feel. Find a new way to express yourself with music, and build a deeper relationship with Baby- and yourself. This is a bilingual program.
Lullabies are the millenia old wisdom for good baby and mother sleep and parental bonding. All humans are hard-wired to engage with intrauterine and post-natal sound, and can focus awareness on the parental voice as early as the third trimester. The parental melody, and shared body rhythm enhances baby mood and releases endorphins in both mother and child. Melody calms and helps baby enter the first phases of sleep. Lullabies with words lay down an unshakeable foundation for language in moments of shared parent-child physicality. These songs will be with your child throughout his or her life, providing a heritage of beauty and tenderness.

Mommy (or Daddy) and Me Classes with Little Barn
9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
This class features classic children’s music favorites such as Row Your Boat, Twinkle Little Star, and Itsy Bitsy Spider with a musical theatre twist! We love sharing our passion for show tunes with songs from Gypsy, Sound Of Music, South Pacific, and Frozen to name a few. 9:30am class and 10:30am class available.
During the class, you and your little one will discover sound and rhythm and will sing and dance along to these wonderful classics with live and recorded music. We will provide baby-friendly instruments and props for your child to use during the time, but parents are more than welcome to bring their own too!
Please Note: *Parents should come dressed in clothes that they can comfortably move in. We recommend parents dress in simple black exercise clothes as young children are easily stimulated visually and can lose focus quickly – colors can pull away from babies’ focus. Toddlers should wear their favorite dance outfit, so they feel like the beautiful little dancers they are. A cardigan is a good idea on cool days as classes will be outside. *
