Stop by the Haskell Library for a fun, interactive story hour! Discover the colorful and creative world of fashion with books by French and English-speaking authors.
Designer for a Day with Fashion Machine
12pm & 3pm
In this workshop, a group of students from The Ecole will work with five artists from the fields of textiles, theatre, and photography to remake the outfits of audience volunteers in less than an hour inside “the Fashion Machine”! Kids are invited to bring in clothing items for their peers to reimagine.
When the time is up, the chosen audience members don their remade outfits and showcase their new looks in a fashion show.
Discover Sempé & Create Your Own Bande Dessinée!
Take a tour of the FIAF Gallery’s exhibition of world-renowned artist Jean-Jacques Sempé’s iconic works. Enjoy a closer look at the illustrations from Sempé’s children’s series, Le Petit Nicolas, as well as his New Yorker covers.
Lights, Camera, Fashion! Discover Life on a Photo Set
Stop by the miniature photography studio for a fun, behind-the-scenes look at the technique and artistry involved in a fashion shoot!
Fashion Customization at Illustration Station
In this workshop, kids will express their individual creativity by using illustrations to customize fashion pieces. Participants are invited to bring items from home that they’d like to customize, such as your favorite t-shirt, sweatshirt, pants, shoes, or canvas tote, and decorate them with the help of fashion illustrator Celine Mai.
