The Zimmer Club’s 94th Annual Huck Finn Fishing Tournament & Costume Contest

The Zimmer Club’s 94th Annual Huck Finn Fishing Tournament & Costume Contest. Fishing is open to all children between the ages of 5 and 14. The Event is FREE. The first one hundred participants will receive a FREE bamboo fishing pole to keep, and all bait and tackle will be supplied. To eliminate on-site sign-up delays, we instituted an early event registration through our website: www.zcysi.org. Onsite registration begins at 8 AM and the fishing tournament will run from 9-11 AM. The Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer, and Becky Thatcher costume contest (ages 5-18) is also FREE and will begin at 11:00 AM. Trophies will be awarded to event winners at 11:30 AM.

How a contestant should dress for points in the Costume Contest:

Tom Sawyer: Brown Trousers or Cuffed Pants, White or Striped Shirt, Straw Hat, Suspenders, No Shoes, Stick, for walking & fishing, Tin can for line, worms & hook, Neckerchief or Handkerchief lunch bag, Corn Cob Pipe.

Huck Finn: Blue farm jeans (w/patches), Suspenders (w/one front button open or missing one rear unbuttoned), No Shirt, No Shoes, tattered Straw Hat, Rope Belt, Neckerchief, Corn Cob Pipe, Sling Shot, Stick for fishing, Tin can for fishing line, worms & hook, Handkerchief lunch bag, Lantern.

Becky Thatcher: White Pantalets, White stockings, Bonnet, Apron, High Top Shoes or Barefoot, Books, Basket (w/flowers or w/apples)
