“I want a temple of spirit, a monument!” In 1943, the Guggenheim’s first director, Hilla Rebay, called upon Frank Lloyd Wright to create a truly unique home for what would be the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Since the building’s completion in 1959, it has continued to inspire curiosity and wonder in the thousands of visitors it welcomes daily. We invite you to join us to see why!

In celebration of the building’s sixty-fifth anniversary, meet us at 2 pm for a journey through the Guggenheim’s iconic architecture. Led by museum educators, these 30-minute, guided experiences will provide deep insight into the building, reveal some of its many unique quirks and details, and encourage you to explore the architecture in creative ways during your visit.

This program is included with museum admission and no advance registration is required.
