Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration

Get ready to make a splash! On Saturday, June 14 we welcome you to take part in the inaugural Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration — a day-long, river-spanning extravaganza honoring our finned friends’ incredible journey upstream.
Join us from 9:30 to noon in New York City at Hudson River Park’s Pier 64 in Chelsea for the Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration’s Welcoming of the Fish — a free, family-friendly, and totally fin-tastic day of art and advocacy. Enjoy live music, a vibrant puppet parade, and the send off of our majestic fish-themed flotilla as it charts the path of the Hudson River’s migratory fish returning home. Join in on the fun by being a part of the parade or come dressed as your favorite fish!
Can’t make it to the Welcoming of the Fish? View the flotilla from the shore as it makes its voyage north with prime viewing opportunities available at many popular riverfront parks and promenades long the Hudson’s eastern shore, including:
Riverside Park (NYC) — approximately 11:15-11:45 am
Fort Washington Park (NYC) — approximately 11:50 am-12:20 pm
Yonkers Waterfront Esplanade (Yonkers) — approximately 12:50-1:20 pm
MacEachron Waterfront Park (Hastings) — approximately 1:25-1:55 pm
Dobbs Ferry Waterfront Park (Dobbs Ferry) — approximately 1:40-2:10 pm
Matthiessen Park (Irvington) — approximately 1:55-2:25 pm
Pierson Park (Tarrytown) — approximately 2:25-2:55 pm
The party continues as the flotilla makes its way to Croton Point Park, where we’ll be bringing Riverkeeper’s Fish Migration Celebration to the newly launched Hudson River Music Festival. We’ll be turning the whimsy and aquatic wonder up to 11 with art-making, advocacy opportunities, and a magical watershed-themed puppet show that brings the river’s story to life. Meet our creative contributors.
From NYC to Westchester, something wondrous is swimming your way! Let’s come together and celebrate the Hudson River’s vibrant ecosystem and the incredible fish that call it home.
