Press Start Orchestra presents Small but Mighty: A Concert Directed by Zach Nicely

Press Start Orchestra returns to the Rutgers Sanctuary for “Small but Mighty”, a concert directed by Zach Nicely. The program explores extraordinary journeys—from the vast landscapes of Hoenn in Pokémon Ruby and the cosmic rush of the Astral Express in Honkai: Star Rail, to the introspective richness of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ ‘Romanza’ from his Symphony No. 5. Though the characters may be small within their vast worlds, their paths leave a lasting impact, shaped by the music underscoring their adventures.

ABOUT US
Press Start is NYC’s community video game cover orchestra. Our musicians are gamers from all over the city playing cherished music from their favorite games for an audience of gamers and musicians alike! We’re proud to be part of the Gamer Symphony Orchestra (GSO) tradition established by ensembles such as the University of Maryland GSO, Washington-Metro GSO, Baltimore GSO, and the New Jersey GSO.
Press Start formed in 2020 as a professional orchestra championing the artistic value of video game music (VGM) in the classical music industry. Our first projects were music videos combining traditions of gaming and chamber music, followed by live concerts programming VGM with classical favorites. Our first season was recently named a finalist for The American Prize in Orchestral Programming—Vytautas Marijosius Memorial Award. Press Start Orchestra performs in residency with the Rutgers Presbyterian Church.
