Pollinator Week Celebration at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

This summer’s Garden theme, Natural Attractions, celebrates the plant-pollinator love story through the lens of Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s vast and varied collections and the native insects to which they are inextricably linked. Join BBG as we celebrate Pollinator Week on Saturday, June 22 from 10:30 AM to 3 PM with family-friendly programming including children’s events in the Discovery Garden, chalk drawing with Chalk Art NYC, and tours by BBG gardeners and Garden Guide volunteers. Don’t miss site-specific installations like the Pollinator Lounge at Oak Circle and exhibits in the Discovery Garden and Conservatory Gallery. All programs are free with Garden admission.

This event is a part of Pollinator Week; free with Garden admission. Join volunteer educators for a series of family-friendly activities celebrating local insect pollinators and their favorite plants. Search for pollinators in our meadow and marsh habitats, create Lepidopteran puppets (a butterfly, moth, or skipper), and play our bee board game or join in a bee dance. Take home a pollinator-friendly seedling while supplies last and learn more by exploring Discovery Carts and interpretive signs throughout the garden.

This event is a part of Pollinator Week; free with Garden admission. Get to know BBG artist in residence Patrick Costello and BBG gardener Quinn Jordan as they lead a family-friendly hand-puppet workshop to help folks learn about plant and pollinator relationships.

This event is a part of Pollinator Week; free with Garden admission. Watch Chalk Art NYC artists Gracie Lee Brown and Liz Budinoff create a BEE-utiful chalk art design in real time! to You can even join the fun by participating in the Color-Me-In chalk activity—open to kids of all ages.

This event is a part of Pollinator Week; free with Garden admission. Explore the Native Flora Garden with BBG gardener Will Lenihan and learn about the blooming plants and their pollination ecology stories, and Native Flora Garden’s pro-pollinator maintenance strategies. Areas of the Native Flora Garden contain steps, please be aware.
