Native American Heritage Month: Art in Action! Watercolor Feathers

Feathers are widely believed among North American Indians to signify the connection between The Creator, the owner of the feather, and the bird from whom the feather came. The feather symbolizes high honor, power, wisdom, trust, strength, freedom, and are seen as gifts from the sky. Families will learn about the significance of feathers in Native American culture, then paint a watercolor feather. Ages 5 and older.
