LMMM to feature Talk by Renowned Architect and Author Phillip James Dodd on American Renaissance

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will feature architect and author Phillip James Dodd for an illustrated talk and book signing of his new release titled, “An American Renaissance: Beaux-Arts Architecture in New York City.”
This book, which has been painstakingly researched and beautifully photographed over many years, takes a close look at twenty of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts architecture in New York City. While showing public exteriors, its main focus is on the lavish interiors associated with the opulence of the Gilded Age – often providing a glimpse inside buildings not otherwise viewable to the public. The book’s foreword is by Julian Fellowes, English actor, novelist, film director, and screenwriter also known as the creator of the historical drama, “Downton Abbey,” among others.
Light refreshments will be offered following the presentation as well as a special drawing for a complimentary tour led by Dodd of the Woodlawn Cemetery. Woodlawn is the resting place of the Mathews, among other notable families.
