Layered Stories: Exploring Culture and Memory Through Printmaking
Join El Museo del Barrio’s teaching artist Dionis Ortiz for a three-part art-making workshop series where we will explore personal and cultural storytelling through hands-on printmaking. Inspired by El Museo’s current exhibitions that highlight artists from Brazil and Puerto Rico, each session invites you to experiment with art techniques like cyanotype, xerox transfer, and mixed-media collage. Together, we’ll reflect on memory, identity, and heritage by layering images, textures, and symbols to create meaningful, expressive works of art. No experience needed, and all materials are provided!
El Museo del Barrio is an art museum located in East Harlem on 5th Avenue between 104th and 105th Streets.
