Ken McGorry and the Achievements will be performing LIVE music at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. The event is free with general admission ticket purchase.

Ken McGorry began gigging with Richard and Greg Meade in college. Forming the Meade Bros. Band, they still perform today, but have slowed down their infamous seven-nights-a-week gambit. In the latter ‘70s Ken peeled off and started a solo singer-songwriter career. Continuing their own schedule, the brothers agreed to join an all-original recording band with Ken in ’79, even though it was named “the Achievements.” The group worked hard in the studio and went on to play such noteworthy venues as the Lone Star Café, My Father’s Place, and Stonybrook University’s WUSB-FM live concert series.

Following a few decades to marry and raise families, the band reformed in 2015 and has been playing and recording their brand of country rock since. Joining the reconstituted lineup are Bill Intemann (drums) and Don Gabis (bass) from the Gabis Bros. Band, Paul Brokaw (keyboards/studio producer) and Douglas Baldwin (guitarist extraordinaire). Special occasions (like this one) warrant the appearance of beloved singer-songwriter Kate Corrigan! Hear their studio work on SoundCloud.com!
