Israeli Search and Rescue Unit visits B’ShERT

Join us on Saturday, April 26th as we honor Israel’s 77th Independence Day** with a special Shabbat service, an Israeli style lunch and a presentation by AFU 669.

After services the ARZA committee will provide the lunch.  Following that, we will host a special event presented by AFU 669 (American Friends of Unit 669). Unit 669 is the Combat Search and Rescue Unit of the Israeli Air Force and is one of the premier Special Operations Units of the IDF; the Unit’s mission is to rescue casualties – both soldiers and civilians – anywhere and under any conditions, be it enemy territory under hostile fire or civilians caught in emergency situations.

The event will take place in the temple sanctuary, it will also be streamed on Zoom, from 1:30 – 3:30; registration is required via Eventbrite.

**This year Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) begins the evening of Wednesday, April 30th and continues through Thursday, May 1st.  It is preceded by Yom Hazikaron (Israeli Memorial Day) on Tuesday, April 29th through Wednesday, April 30th.
