Imagined Futures: A Lively & Immersive Weekend in Red Hook

This event has already taken place.Oct. 14 – 15, all day,
FREE, by donation

In this particular and crucial time – more than ten years out from Sandy and with heavy rain pouring in this weekend across the East Coast– Imagined Futures looks to galvanize, high-five and resource people and projects guiding us towards the future we owe to the earth… and each other.

Beginning in Red Hook this fall and moving across the boroughs through 2024, we’re partnering with businesses, artists, teachers, activists and thinkers to actively imagine the future we want.

With a large group art show, live music by Batalá New York and Barge Rat Band, a neighborhood wide scavenger hunt in collaboration with Red Hook Art Project, community led workshop led by Thaddeus Pawlowski of Columbia Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes at the Waterfront Museum, a climate catastrophe vs adaptogen giant Jenga tournament, sustainable goods delivery on the Schooner Apollonia, a hands-on workday at the RETI Center educational barge, and Strong Rope Brewery’s launch of their Imagined Futures Beer benefiting 5 New York Climate luminaries, there’s something for everyone!
