Enjoy old-fashioned holiday traditions during the Historic Holidays at Hallockville open house to thank the community for all their support throughout the year.

Costumed docents will lead tours of the historic Hallock Homestead which will be decorated for a Victorian Christmas, and explain why Christmas celebrations were banned by early East End settlers and eventually came to the North Fork primarily as a secular celebration. Ella’s famous molasses cookies will be backing in the woodfire stove!

In the Cichanowicz Farmhouse docents will recreate a Polish Christmas Eve celebration from the 1930s. The Hudson-Sydlowski House will welcome visitors for holiday shopping at the Museum Store featuring exclusively handcrafted items. Then step over to the Farming Family exhibit (based on Richard Wines’s book, A Farm Family on Long Island North Fork) and create family friendly art projects.

The Trubisz House will feature a charming toy exhibit. Outside, there will be strolling carolers, children’s activities, a puppet workshop by Goat on the Boat, Photo opportunities  and refreshments.
