All season long, BFPL invites visitors to revel in this year’s uniquely tropical holiday cheer by savoring festive cocktails, finding the perfect gifts, enjoying live performances, and snapping photo moments while spending time with Santa. The Rink at BFPL: Located on the Waterfront Plaza, the Rink at Brookfield Place will open in mid-November for another memorable winter season. New Yorkers and tourists alike are invited to take in breathtaking views of the cityscape and Hudson River while skating the 7,350 square-foot outdoor rink. Led by former U.S. Olympic skaters, 2024 programming will include public skating, private lessons, intro to hockey for kids, corporate events, and festive fun!

New York Theatre Ballet Presents Keith Michael’s The Nutcracker, November 22 – 24, 2024: Brookfield Place invites guests to once again experience the holiday magic of The Nutcracker in the Winter Garden! Presented by New York Theatre Ballet and Brookfield Properties Arts & Events, the four performances will be set to Tchaikovsky’s cherished score in Art Nouveau-style circa 1907 with innovative choreography by long-time New York Theatre Ballet choreographer, Keith Michael. While admission is free, tickets are first come, first served and are currently sold out. Early arrival is strongly suggested. Free Holiday Gift Wrapping at the Wrap Retreat, November 29 – December 24, 2024: Throughout the holiday season, Brookfield Place is a one-stop-shop for everyone’s holiday shopping and gift wrapping needs. Show a receipt from any Brookfield Place retailer and receive complimentary gift wrapping of your purchased items! Guests can relax in the retreat, read holiday stories, or borrow a free game to play around the property while presents are wrapped. The Wrap Retreat will be located at 230 Vesey Street, on Level 1 next to the Concierge Desk. 

Selfies with Santa, Select days, November 29 – December 24, 2024: Create lasting holiday memories at BFPL by snapping a close-up with family, friends and Santa in the Winter Garden. There will be crafts, candy canes and lots of holiday cheer! Take a fresh approach to traditional holiday photos with tropical props provided by BFPL. Dog parents can bring their furry friends to join the paws-itively delightful photo set on December 5 and December 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. When you arrive at Brookfield Place, join the virtual queue for this complimentary experience. First come first served. Families and friends can cross holiday shopping off the to-do list while they wait!

Santa’s Sandcastle, November 29, 2024 – January 3, 2025: Step into BFPL’s first-ever Santa’s Sandcastle, where a grand sandcastle and festive palm trees create the ultimate holiday photo backdrop. Embrace the warm, island vibes as you pose in this sun-soaked wonderland, bringing a tropical twist to your holiday memories in this complimentary experience.

7 Days of Giveaways, December 9 – 15, 2024: Every day from December 9 – 15 at 11:30am, BFPL will host 7 Days of Giveaways for visitors of all ages in the Winter Garden on Level 2, giving away various tropical-inspired holiday items. Post your sandcastle photos on social media and tag @bfplny!

Hanukkah Celebration, December 17, 2024: Embrace the spirit of the season with art, music, warmth and community from 5:30 – 6:30PM on December 17. Enjoy a live klezmer band performance and therapeutic artmaking activity led by art therapist, Tova Speter. Inspired by the Edith Wharton quote “there are two ways of spreading light, to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it,” the artist invites you to create a mini candle holder and consider how you share your light with others.
