Gingerbread City

The Gingerbread City, is a unique holiday pop-up at The Seaport where visitors can build and decorate their own gingerbread creations using freshly baked gingerbread from Padoca Bakery. The event features architect-designed workshops, a showcase of gingerbread installations themed “The Playful City,” and a gingerbread-themed café by Willett’s Café Spinone.

The theme invites architects to explore how play can reshape urban living, showcasing imaginative designs from various architecture firms. Each workshop allows groups of up to four to create a community center gingerbread house, complete with all materials and decorations provided.

The café will offer special holiday drinks with a gingerbread twist, and children participating in workshops receive complimentary hot chocolate. Additionally, an AI tool called the “Gingerbread Button” allows visitors to transform selfies into gingerbread characters.

The event aims to merge architecture with playful artistic expression, making design accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
