Genesis House x CFDA Design Installation
Genesis House and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) invites visitors to witness the future of AAPI design at Genesis House. Over the past five months, emerging AAPI designers Andrew Kwon, Grace Ling and Private Policy took part in the inaugural CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant to craft a bespoke collection encapsulating the intersection between their cultural heritage and contemporary influences. The winner of the competition received a $100,000 grant to further support their blossoming career in the fashion industry.
Genesis House is showcasing all three collections from the program participants in the Cellar Stage, where guests can admire the custom garments on display and gain insights into the inspiration behind each collection. The designs are showcased alongside select iconic pieces from renowned AAPI fashion designers Altuzarra, Bibhu Mohapatra, Monse, Naeem Khan, Peter Soms, PH5, Prabal Gurung, and Vivienne Tam. The installation honors esteemed designers while celebrating the promising talent of tomorrow.
