From Diet Culture to Disorder: Recognizing and Responding to Disordered Eating

Join a panel of experts from NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health and Weill Cornell Medicine for a program on recognizing disordered eating and how best to respond.

Topics will include: Diet Culture and its potential impact on individuals at risk for eating disorders, signs of disordered eating – or an eating disorder, and treatment options.

The expert panel includes:

Suzanne Straebler, PhD, PMH, Clinical Director of the Center for Eating Disorders Partial Hospital Program and Outpatient Specialty Clinic.

Melissa Klein, PhD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry and Assistant Attending in the inpatient Eating Disorder Program.

Samantha Berlow, LCSW, Eating Disorder Specialist at the Center for Eating Disorders Outpatient Specialty Clinic.

The program is geared towards parents, teachers, mental health professionals, and anyone concerned about someone who may be experiencing an eating disorder.  This event is sponsored by NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health and our Family Engagement Committee.  The program will be available in both English and Spanish.
