Free Self-Defense Class Benefiting Alzheimer’s Association®
Open to individuals ages 12 and up, the class will be led by Head Instructor Michael Saltzman and will cover practical self-defense techniques designed to promote safety, awareness, and confidence. No prior martial arts experience is needed, and all skill levels are welcome.
This event takes place during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, a time dedicated to honoring those affected by the disease and raising support for care, research, and advocacy. The event offers participants the chance to learn real-world self-defense skills while supporting an important cause.
The Alzheimer’s Association® is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research, and proceeds from the class will directly support its mission.
The event continues a long-standing tradition at Nokado of offering free self-defense classes as a way of giving back to the community. Since taking over the school in 2022, Mr. Saltzman has turned these events into fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Association® in memory of his father, who passed away from complications related to dementia.
While the class is free to attend, a suggested donation of $20 will be collected to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association®.
