Family Storytelling Workshop By Natalia Nakazawa

August 17, noon2 pm.
Free; $10 suggested donation

Join this storytelling experience rooted in myth, imagination, and family legacy. The event will include a reading of the ancient Japanese tale of Urashima Taro, a story dating back to the 8th century about a fisherman whose life is forever changed after meeting a magical princess in the form of a turtle. Inspired by this myth, families will have the chance to imagine themselves as a 10,000-year-old yokai, the minogame, a mystical being who has witnessed centuries of human experience. Families will create collagraph prints of woven patterns on Tyvek, merging ancestral memory with tactile expression.
