Ephrat Asherie Dance with Arturo O’Farrill

Ephrat Asherie Dance (EAD) joins forces with Grammy Award-winning pianist and composer Arturo O’Farrill for Shadow Cities, a multi-faceted reflection on the beauty, vastness, and joy of life in between places, memories, and generations. With six dancers and four musicians, the company draws on the narrative qualities of Afro-diasporic vernacular forms, including breaking, hip hop, house, and waacking, to encounter their most enlivened selves. Featuring live music by O’Farrill and friends, Shadow Cities becomes a vibrant dialogue between his sweeping compositions and EAD’s dynamic, expressive choreography—creating a layered journey through identity, heritage, and movement both deeply personal and universally resonant.
