Dance Heginbotham’s “You Look Like a Fun Guy”

Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) invites visitors to experience Dance Heginbotham’s You Look Like a Fun Guy, an outdoor performance event inspired by legendary composer John Cage’s interest in mycology (the study of fungi and mushrooms) and his innovative compositional techniques.

Performances include an evening of sensory wonder that combines live rebroadcasting with Omar Zubair’s immersive audio installation. Performance attendees may also reserve tickets for Mycology & Mingle, a pre-event party featuring delightful mushroom-inspired drinks and cuisine —including mushroom beggars’ purses, porcini truffle tiramisu, and a mushroom Manhattan cocktail—learn about composer John Cage, founder of the New York Mycological Society, and chat with choreographer John Heginbotham. The event wraps up just before the performance begin.

You Look Like a Fun Guy is a ticketed event, ages 14 and up. To attend the pre-event Mycology & Mingle cocktail party, purchase both a performance ticket and a party reservation for the same evening.
