Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation’s Runyon 5K

The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation will hold the Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium, with 100% of funds raised directly supporting innovative cancer research by brilliant early career scientists. This year the event will return to its weekend morning roots and will be a great summer activity for families as well as teams of friends and colleagues looking to experience Yankee Stadium like never before. The route starts just inside the Gate 4 entrance and traverses the ballpark’s concourses, ramps, and stairs on multiple levels. Participants have the unique opportunity to take laps around the warning track that circles the field, appear on the centerfield video board, and meet scientists whose research is supported by Damon Runyon.

Volunteering is another fun way to take part in the Runyon 5K for those not up for a run or walk through Yankee Stadium. Enthusiastic and reliable volunteers ages 15 and up are needed to help with everything from setting up water stops to cheering on participants to handing out medals at the finish line.

Virtual participation is also an option for those who can’t make it to the Bronx on July 29.
