We have so much to celebrate this week! From focusing on self-love and Valentine’s Day, to special carnival celebrations and Lunar New Year celebrations, to focusing on black joy, and celebrating the right to vote, there is something for everything this break week at CMOM!
Performance: DIVI ROXX KIDS: A Celebration of Self-Love, Positivity & Hip-Hop

March with A Suffragist: CMOM’s Right to Vote

Join and fashion historian and costumed interpreter, Raissa Bretaña to learn more about suffragists and the symbols and clothes that are associated with the movement. March along with her and celebrate voting rights, in conjunction with our Right to Vote Exhibit!

Performance and Read Aloud: “A Black Girl and Her Braids”

Join us for a special morning with author and performer, Jaylene Clark Owens. Based off Jaylene’s viral poem of the same name, “A Black Girl and Her Braids” champions braids of all lengths, looks, parts, and styles, in a vibrant picture book celebrating the versatility of Black hair. Join us for a read aloud and spoken word poetry performance you won’t forget!
