The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra’s 51st season continues with a concert featuring music spanning three centuries, guest conducted by Nico Olarte-Hayes, faculty at Juilliard’s Pre-College Division and the Perlman Music Program. Hear virtuoso Nina Bernat play Stuart Sankey’s Carmen Fantasy on double bass; an overture by Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a famed swordsman and colonel from the West Indies; and pieces by Gabriel Fauré and Antonín Dvořák.
