Become a Certified Frog Watcher
Ready to hop into the world of frogs? Join this in person and gather together to watch a live virtual FrogWatch USA training and turn your curiosity into conservation!
Led by friendly, frog-loving educators from Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo and The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, this engaging training will have you:
- Leaping into the world of community science (anyone can help—yes, even you!)
- Discovering why frogs and other amphibians are toad-ally important to healthy ecosystems
- Learning how to listen like a frog detective and identify the ten species commonly heard in Connecticut by their calls
After the training wraps up, you’ll be sent a virtual assessment from CT’s Beardsley Zoo to complete at home. Then, you’ll officially be a certified FrogWatch USA volunteer, ready to help scientists keep an eye (and ear!) on local frog populations.
This all-ages program is perfect for families and adults who LOVE amphibians. A fun Vernal Pool Bingo will start the event off followed by the training. So, come learn together, ask questions and take a giant leap for frog conservation. No experience required!
**If inclement weather, all participants that have registered through the Beardsley Zoo link will receive their own link to watch from home.**
