Art Explorers Club: Watercolor Wonders for Ages 5 – 10

Start your weekend with art! Join bilingual art educator Kim Zambrano one Saturday each month for a new and exciting interactive gallery tour, hands-on art making, stories, and much more. Both English and Spanish speakers are welcome. Kids will explore a variety of different art materials and techniques as they create open-ended projects and let their imaginations soar! Get creative and make new friends at this program designed specifically for ages five through 10.

On August 9, join us for a fun and colorful art adventure to end the summer! Students will explore beautiful landscapes in the museum and learn how to use watercolor to paint what they see. After looking closely at art and nature, they’ll head outside to Heckscher Park to paint their own landscape using observational skills. To finish, each student will create a bright and cheerful summer postcard inspired by their favorite summer memory. It’s the perfect way to say goodbye to summer with creativity, color, and imagination!

¡Acompáñanos en una divertida y colorida aventura de arte al final de verano! Los estudiantes explorarán hermosos paisajes en el museo y aprenderán a usar las acuarelas para pintar lo que ven. Después de ver con detenimiento el arte y la naturaleza, saldrán al parque Heckscher para pintar sus propios paisajes empleando sus destrezas de observación. Para finalizar, cada estudiante creará una colorida y animada postal veraniega inspirada en sus recuerdos favoritos sobre el verano. ¡Es la despedida perfecta al verano con creatividad, color e imaginación!
