***Anthem a Musical Slaute to America and Her Heroes *** PERFORMANCE CANCELLED

Islip Arts Council  Brings ‘Anthem: A Musical Tribute to America and Her Heroes”’ to The Boulton Center for the Performing Arts Center,  Nov 14 & 15 2024. A  Portion of Net Proceeds going to Tunnels To Towers. 

Bay Shore, NY –September 5, 2024 – The Islip Arts Council is proud to present “Anthem: A Musical Tribute to America and Her Heroes,” a unique musical tribute infused with patriotic spirit,  to the Boulton Center For Performing Arts. Scheduled for November 14 at 7 PM and November 15 at 2 PM and 7 PM. These performances promise not just entertainment but a heartfelt tribute to our nation’s Veterans and First Responders.

“Anthem” began as a vision in 2018 when Long Island native Carolyn Benson collaborated with music producer Gray Devio. Together, they produced the song “Forever in My Heart,” a poignant ballad from a soldier to a loved one. This project inspired Carolyn to create a show that not only showcases her musical talent but also honors those who have served our country. Her Father was a Marine in the Korean War and Her Husband is a retired Nassau County Sergeant so this is a show close to her heart. 

Carolyn will be joined on stage by Long Island musical legend  Paul Mahos, along with a few surprise guest singers and performers. The show will feature well-known patriotic songs, some old, some new, and rock ‘n’ roll favorites, with several opportunities for the audience to join in and sing along.

A portion of the net proceeds will be donated  to the Tunnel to Towers.

The Islip Arts Council, led by Executive Director Lynda A. Moran, proudly sponsors this event. “Carolyn’s dedication to using her voice for a cause is deeply inspiring,” said Lynda Moran.
