3rd Annual Pumpkin Smash

Don’t trash your pumpkins! Smash them! at SMLI’s 3rd annual Pumpkin Smash! Join the Science Museum of Long Island for a smashing good time! BYOP (bring your own pumpkin) to be tossed, thrown, eaten, crushed and smashed! enjoy live music by local favorite Potato Phoenix! Get your pumpkin smashing fuel from Barrier Brewery, Sid’s All American Food Truck and Smusht! (food and drinks are not included with the price of the ticket). All pumpkin waste will be composted at at the end of the event thanks to a partnership with orkestai farm, reducing waste, greenhouse gas emmissions and helping to return nutrients back to the earth! ​

Pumpkin Smashing stations include: ​pumpkin slingshots, pumpkin launchers (new), pumpkin bat smashing station, pumpkin spike smash (improved), pumpkin drop kill, pumpkin bowling, Rudy the pumpkin smashing tortoise​ ($), pumpkin archery (new)​, pumpkin rooftop drop ($), and much much more!

All proceeds from the event will go to the Christopher Holmes Scholarship and Conservation Memorial Fund, established in 2022, honors Chris’ life and his passion for education and environmental conservation. Donations support the SMLI Summer Camp Scholarship, ensuring local children have access to enriching learning experiences, and contribute to conservation programs like Habitats for half Shells, helping to protect and restore Long Island Sound.
