Shabazz Spacely’s Cabinet of Intergalactic Curiosities
Shabazz B. Spacely’s Cabinet of Intergalactic Curiosities is an immersive Afrofuturist theater experience created by educator Kwame Brandt-Pierce, that combines shadow puppetry, video, choreography, and sound design to transport children on an interstellar adventure to the distant universe known as the TRiPTIC.
In this interactive performance, young explorers travel to the strange new planet of Teluron Prime and discover mysterious alien creatures by performing specific sounds, body movements, and gestures. Then, guests can create their own decoder glasses in ColorLab to uncover hidden clues scattered throughout the Museum and explore further into the TRiPTIC!
Showtimes for Shabazz Spacely run from 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm. Recommended for children ages 7–10. Each performance can accommodate up to 35 participants on a first come, first served basis.
